28 Weeks
How Far Along? I am 28 weeks and 1 day
Total weight gain/loss? 20 pounds
Maternity clothes? Not so bad. Some of them are getting tight, mainly the pants.
Sleep? Every night is different it seems. It does not seem to matter what time I fall asleep anymore I am still up at 6 or 7 even on the weekends.
Best moment this week? Putting Daniel's crib together! I keep walking into his room now and telling him this is his bed. It is making everything seem so much more real.
Movement? Pretty consistent but his kicks are getting harder. Last night he actually made me jump he kicked me so hard.
Food Cravings? Chicken and potatoes, Tacos
What I miss? Walking normal. I feel like I waddle everywhere.
What I am looking forward to? Washing all of his clothes and putting them away.
Milestones? He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
Other notes? I can't stop thinking about his entrance into this world. It is one thing to be pregnant and another to be responsible of taking care of his little life on the outside. It is really hitting me that he will be here soon. I am getting nervous about being a good mom and a little scared that I might not know how to do something.

Update from Appointment
The appointment went well. They are more worried about me than him. Daniel's heartbeat was 147 so it has not been effected by the heart medicine. The only side effect from the medicine would be low birth weight. My doctor said I should not worry about it too much because the research data from pregnant women taking this medicine is skewed due to the fact that they are taking it for preeclampsia. That in itself causes low birth weight and they do not really know that it is the medicine. As a precaution I am having an ultrasound in 2 weeks and every 3 weeks after that to make sure he is growing properly. I am excited to get more pictures of him!

Appointment Today
I have a follow up appointment with my OB today to see how my heart is doing and to make sure Daniel is doing ok with the medication they started me on. I had to go to the Cardiac ER on Friday because my Heart Monitor detected some abnormalities. I was diagnosed with AVNRT or Atrioventricular Nodal Reentry Tachycardia. They started me on Lopressor which is a beta-blocker to help lower my heart rate and control the PVC's. I am just a little concerned about what it is doing to Daniel. If it lowers my heart rate will it lower his? Hopefully I will get these answers today. I will let you know what they say.

27 weeks!
How Far Along? I am 27 weeks and 1 day
Total weight gain/loss? 17 pounds at last appt
Maternity clothes? are finally fitting better. The shirts are made for a bigger belly and I finally have one!
Sleep? Not too bad. Still waking up to pee and eat
Best moment this week? Getting Daniel's Crib and cleaning his room!
Movement? He is moving pretty regularly. He responds to me pushing against him.
Food Cravings? Nothing really this week.
What I miss? being able to bend over!
What I am looking forward to? His crib coming in (we had to order it) and washing his clothes!
Milestones? He's busy adding new skills such as blinking to an already impressive repertoire of tricks like coughing, sucking, hiccuping, and taking practice breaths. His sleep now includes the REM (rapid eye movement) phase — and that means he could be dreaming already.
Other notes? I am getting really anxious about his arrival. In a good way!

Glucose Test and Crib!
The nurse called and my Glucose Test was normal! Woo Hoo, no more blood work for a while hopefully! I know three people that have failed it in the last couple of months, so I was a little concerned since I do eat a lot of donuts! :)
Mom and Dad Sevin are coming in this weekend and they are going to take the guest bedroom stuff back to Georgia with them. Since we only have a 2 bedroom we are kicking out our guests! Daniel needs a room. Anyone that wants to visit can feel free to stay at the hotel next to our place or sleep on a air mattress!!! This will just be until November, we will be getting a bigger place when our lease is up. Mom and Dad Sevin are also taking us crib shopping this weekend! I am so excited!

Cardiology Appointment
I had a Cardiology appointment yesterday afternoon to try to find out why I keep getting heart palpitations. I had a EKG and a Echo cardiogram. The Echo was like getting an ultrasound of my heart and after the tech looked at my heart she asked if we wanted to take a peek at Daniel! I said yes, of course! We got to see him and he has gotten so big. He was all curled up and you can tell he is running out of room. He was sucking his thumb and was moving all over the place. It is so amazing to see him. Ok so back to the real reason we were there... The tests came back normal. They put me on a Event Monitor for 30 days to record the palpitations when I have them. It is programmed to record automatically if it senses something going on. Last night it went off until it was full and then continuously beeped! It was so annoying I took it off so I could sleep. I had to call the recordings in over the phone this morning to clear it out. Anyways, hopefully this will help figure out what is going on.

25 Weeks
How Far Along? I am 25 weeks and 3 days
Total weight gain/loss? 10 pounds I have not weighed since last appt. I like to use the same scale.
Maternity clothes? I did not realize that you have to continuously buy them throughout the pregnancy. I thought I would just stay in one size and they would stretch or something!
Sleep? I am waking up about 30 minutes before my alarm goes off everyday! I am wide awake and happy.
Best moment this week? Registering for baby stuff!
Movement? Still moving all over the place. He seems to be on more of a schedule now.
Food Cravings? Still peanut butter and applesauce
What I miss? Being able to slide through narrow spaces. My belly is getting in the way now.
What I am looking forward to? Seeing my family and friends this weekend. I like them to see me at the different stages in my pregnancy. They will be able to feel him kick now too!
Milestones? All his five senses are now be fully developed and his eyes are starting to open.
Other notes? I love Daniel so much and can't wait to meet him.

Daniel's Room
I (we) finally picked out what I want to do with Daniel's room. After months of looking at Mickey Mouse bedding and not finding anything that we like, we decided to just switch to the Blue and Brown theme. That is what the stroller, car seat, swing and stuff will be anyway. I still want to put some Mickey stuff in his room. We have already bought quite a few Mickey Mouse books for him.
So here it is... I also want to get letters to put his name on the wall. (This is not the crib, I want one with more of an espresso finish.)

Recapping
4 weeks, 4 days - January 15, 2009, went to the store and bought a pregnancy test and a bottle of wine. Took the test and it was positive. Brian's response, "Go buy a brand name one!" Of course I did and it was positive too. We told both of our families that night. Needless to say it was a bit of a shock, but also the best thing that could have happened to us.
6 weeks, 2 days - January 27, 2009, first doctor's appt. Everything was just perfect. We had the first ultrasound and got to hear the heartbeat.

8 weeks, 2 day - February 10, 2009, Ultrasound for dating purposes. Found out the due date was September 20, 2009.

Mucho Movement!
So yesterday I went to the pool and every time I got in the water, Daniel started moving. I think he likes the pool like his mommy. (either that or he thought the water was cold) He also does not really like anything sitting on my stomach. My tummy has started to become a table and when I sit anything on it, he kicks it. It is just amazing that he knows something is there.
I am through 25 weeks, woo hoo! I feel like I feel like I am getting bigger by the day. I am starting to feel every move he makes! I think I felt a hiccup but I am not sure. It is the best feeling, just not at 4:00am. I could not go back to sleep last night after he kicked my bladder and I got up to pee. So instead of counting sheep, I started counting kicks. I counted 14 in less than a minute! No wonder I can't sleep! I know it sounds like I am complaining, but I really love this and would not trade it for anything.

First Time Blogging!
I am am newly married and we are expecting a baby boy in September. We live about 5 hours away from our families and most of our friends which makes things a little harder. I wish we could spend more time with them.
Being pregnant is awesome. There are some rough times but when you have an ultrasound, hear the heart beat or feel something kicking you from the inside it makes up for it. I am 24 weeks now and feel him kick and move all day. Sometimes I forget what I am doing because I just stop and feel or watch my belly. It is definitely the happiest I have been in my life. I am very thankful for my husband, family and friends.
