Christmas 2010

Well I know I said this last year but, this has been the best Christmas we have ever had! It all started on Christmas Eve. We went to Mimi and Pops' house to have lunch, open presents and to attend the Christmas Eve service at AFUMC. We had yummy spaghetti for lunch which is one of Daniel's favorite foods! Then Logan and Daniel opened their gifts from Mimi and Pops! These boys received so many great things! They got the boys a wagon, a tool bag, a couple of cars, a fire truck, some clothes, ornaments and books. (I probably forgot something)

We went to church and then back to Mimi and Pop's house to let the boys play more.

On Christmas morning, Daniel gave mommy and daddy a very special present. he slept until about 7:15! Usually he is up at 6:30 so we were very thankful. We When Daniel woke up, Brian went and got Daniel up and I turned all the Christmas lights on. We let Daniel walk into the living room from his room to see what Santa brought him. He of course ran to a toy that was not from Santa...

Here is what Santa brought

Daniel got a few DVD's, coloring books, a laptop, a Cozy Coupe car, a climbing slide, a big dump truck, and much more! He must have been good this year!
He LOVES Veggie Tales!

After opening presents I made breakfast, Daniel took a short nap and then we headed over to Mia and Poppy's house. If you think Daniel has not received enough presents just wait! When we got to their house Daniel was ready for a nap so we laid him down. When everyone arrived we ate lunch and then opened presents. We did something new this year for the adults, a white elephant gift exchange. It was so much fun, I think it is going to be a new tradition. We also realized something at this point...It was going to be a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!

It was then time for the kids to open their gifts... Baby Rachel was so excited to open her gifts that she fell asleep and Daniel was fussy because he has been teething and was tired! You can imagine how many gifts they actually opened on their own! lol

Rachel and John! What a proud daddy!

After all of this we headed home and put Daniel down for a nap. I had planned on having people over for dessert and coffee but due to the weather and the icey roads Georgia has anytime it snows, most people did not get to make it. Mia, Poppy and Aunt Lisa came for a short time and decided to leave before dark after sliding in my driveway and hitting the mailbox lol! Our wonderful friends and neighbors walked over to hang out. I pray that next year it works out because I would really like it to be a new tradition!

Today we went to Memaw and Pete's house to celebrate with everyone. It was wonderful to have Uncle John and my cousins, Elizabeth and Rebecca here from Texas and Colorado. It had been at least 3 years since we have seen them so they had not met Daniel.

Rachel Elizabeth Anderson

On Thurday afternoon Daniel and I went over to visit with Nicole (my SIL) and Dana (her mom). Nicole was 40 weeks and 6 days pregnant with my niece, Rachel. We had very patiently been awaiting her arrival and realized she was going to take her time just like her daddy, my brother John, did. We left there around 2:30pm because my dog niece, Sarah, peed on my lap! We got home and laid Daniel down for a nap. About 15 minutes later Nicole sent me a text saying she was experiencing signs of labor! Woo Hoo!! I was so excited. We were thinking she was going to have to be induced because she had not really progressed at all up until this point. Around 8pm or so they checked into the hospital and a little while later they admitted her. I rode with my mom up to the hospital and left Daniel with Brian. We got there at 9:30pm. We stayed all night and our beautiful niece was born at 6:42am Friday morning!

Around 4am...still waiting
The whole crew!
Excited and exhausted Mia and Mimi

She weighs 6lbs 15oz and is 19 1/4 inches long. Nicole did wonderful through the birth and John is such a proud daddy!

Welcome to the world Rachel Elizabeth!

What a beautiful blessing God has given us!

15 Months

Daniel is now 15 months old! That means we are already 25 percent done with his second year! It is crazy how time flies! It is also weird celebrating his second set of holidays! I find myself looking at the "Baby's First Christmas" outfits at the store and thinking...this is cute. I then remember it is not his first! I am so excited about celebrating Christmas this year. Daniel is old enough to try and get into the presents and mess with the ornaments. I tell him "no" all day long! It is just so much fun. I am sure this is just the beginning of a lifetime of joy!

  • This month he has really taken off walking! He gets going so fast I am afraid he is going to land on his face!
  • He has also started laughing and having these little conversations that we can not understand. It seems as if he just cracks himself up. (He gets his humor and wanting attention from Brian) : )
  • He LOVES Veggietales! He will just sit down and look at the DVD cases and his books with the characters on them and talk and laugh. He gets so excited when he sees them.
  • In the bathtub he has these Mickey Mouse clubhouse characters and he likes to stand them all up on the side of the tub. He will keep trying until they are all standing...laying down does not cut it!
  • He is facinated with balloons. He will hold onto one and walk around the house. He also likes to throw the end of it up in the air and catch it when it comes back down.
  • He points when he wants something. He will point and have me following him to show me where to go. I am really working on him talking more but he can definitely communicate just fine!
  • When he has a dirty diaper I will say "are you stinky" and he will reply, "stinky"!
  • He loves to be chased around the house and for somebody to "get" him.
  • He absolutely loves big kids! Every time we have a play date with Alycia, Cael and Josh he just gets ecstatic when he sees Cael! Thankfully Cael (3 1/2) loves him just as much!
He is really the sweetest child with the most incredible personality. He is such a people person and loves to be the center of attention.  I love this little guy so much. He makes me laugh even when he is getting into trouble.

Happy 15 Months Baby Boy!
