40 Weeks...

How Old? 40 Weeks! (9 months, 1 week)
Weight? 16lbs 12oz...just a guess
Clothing? 6-9 months and 9 months
Sleep?  He sleeps 11 hours straight through the night! I have been told he is a great sleeper.
Toys? He loves balls!
Eating?  He eats about the same amount as he has been. He tried eggs for the first time...he does not like them all that much but he is not allergic!
New discoveries?  Pulling up to a stand in his crib and crawling. He has also started hitting EVERYTHING!
What I am looking forward to? Watching my little man grow and do new things everyday.
New Things/ Things to Watch For? Your baby can now put objects in a container and remove them. Give him a plastic bucket and some colorful blocks so he can practice this new skill. (Make sure they're not so small that he can swallow them.) He also likes toys with moving parts, such as knobs, levers, or doors that open and close. Big plastic cars that your baby can wheel around on the floor are fun playthings, too.If you take a toy away from him, your increasingly assertive baby is likely to object. He's really starting to be able to make his needs and wants known. Some sound advice: Give him something new before you take the other object away.About half of babies this age will initiate passing games — giving away objects and then taking them back. Be his playmate. Try rolling a ball to your baby and see whether he rolls it back to you. Give him a sorting toy or stacking rings and see if he sorts or stacks or hands the pieces to you. He'll also like to share his food, so accept these "gifts" graciously.

I Finally Have Time!

It has been a very busy few weeks! We have moved into our new house, gone to the beach and spent a week by ourselves while daddy went on a business trip. So much has happened with Daniel during this time.He is now crawling, pulling up in his crib and moving into a sitting position by himself!

We closed on our house May 28th and moved in on May 30th. Our families helped us get the house ready by painting, packing, unpacking, moving stuff and cleaning the carpet! I am so thankful we had so much help. We love the house. Daniel has his own playroom so mommy and daddy have the living room back! YAY! Daniel has not had any problems adjusting to the move. He is a very "flexible" baby. We now have Daisy home with us too! She seems so glad to be home. Daniel loves having Daisy around.

Daniel and I went to the beach on June 5th with Mia, Poppy, Aunt Nicole and Uncle John. We had a blast. Daniel accomplished so many things during this week. He starting scooting, swimming under water and walking everywhere. He saw the beach for the first time and seemed to like it after a brief mishap of getting sand blown in his eyes. He LOVED the pool. He would sit on the side and scoot himself in. He is a little fish!
At the Condo!
 At the Pool
At the Beach!
Playing Putt-Putt
At Gulf World We Saw...

The Turtles!
 Sea Lions!

Birds!

Dolphins!

And then we went back to the Condo...

And found a turtle!
We had so much fun!

New Things/ Things to Watch For? The 9-month-old child continues making major gains in development and begins displaying a little independence. The youngster of this age is always begins displaying a little independence. The youngster of this age is always on the move and will begin to get opinionated about such things as what foods to eat and when to go to sleep. Occasionally, these opinions turn into foods to eat and when to go to sleep. Occasionally, these opinions turn into protests, so now is the time to begin setting some limits and saying "no." The following comments are designed to help you and your partner enjoy your 9-month-old while continuing to gain confidence in yourselves as parents. Week 38!!

How Old? 38 weeks (8 Months, 3 Weeks, 3 days)
Weight? 16lbs? We will find out at his 9 month appointment on the 15th.
Clothing? He is still in 6 and 6/9 months clothes and size 3 diapers.
Sleep? He is not a big napper. He naps about 3 or 4 times a day for about 30-45 minutes at a time. He sleeps 10-11 hours through the night.
Toys? Remotes, cords and cables, anything that spins, phones, clothing tags and anything else he can find.
Eating? His appetite had increased since he has been on the Prevacid. He had been eating about 5-6 jars of baby food and around 20 ounces of formula. He is also eating grits in the mornings and several snacks throughout the day. He drinks juice and water from a sippy cup as well.
New discoveries? He is a clapping, waving, high-fiving, scooting and talking machine! He loves to walk while holding onto someone's fingers and can stand for a few seconds by himself.
What I am looking forward to? Gymboree classes for Daniel start on June 19th!
New Things/ Things to Watch For? Your baby's getting closer and closer to full-fledged walking. He can probably crawl up stairs and cruise, moving around upright while holding onto furniture. A baby this age may even take a couple of steps. (A few actually do walk now — and some don't walk until well into their second year. There's a wide range of ages at which children meet this milestone.) Your baby's also learning how to bend his knees and how to sit after standing, which is harder to master than you might think! He might get "stuck" standing up in his crib. If this happens, gently show him how he can get back down. There are ways to help your baby with his walking efforts. Stand or kneel in front of him, and help him walk toward you by holding both of his hands. Eventually just hold your hands out to him in encouragement. Some babies enjoy pushing a toddle truck, which provides both support and mobility. Look for one with a wide, stable base. Babyproofing your home is a necessity now. One good place to start is to put latches on the doors of off-limits cabinets — babies inevitably make a beeline for such things. (You could also move all cleaning supplies or potential poison hazards to higher cabinets.) Also, your baby's crib mattress should be at the lowest mattress setting.

37 Weeks

How Old? 37 weeks (8 Months, 2 Weeks, 3 days)
Weight? hopefully 16lbs
Clothing? 6 and 6/9 months. size 3 diapers
Sleep? He sleeps great. 10-11 hours straight
Toys? Anything that makes noise or that spins.
Eating? he eats about the same...4-5 jars and 20 ounces of formula. He loves fresh bananas and eats lots of snacks.
New discoveries? He claps and tries to wave. He is also starting to give "high five" He loves to hold hands and walk.
What I am looking forward to? Going to the beach on Friday!
New Things/ Things to Watch For? Your baby's vision — previously about 20/40 at best — is now almost adult-like in its clarity and depth perception. Though your baby's short-range sight is still best, his long- range vision is good enough to recognize people and objects across a room. He may see a toy on the other side of the room and try to crawl toward it. His eyes are also probably close to their final color, although you may see subtle changes later.
