Week 38!!

How Old? 38 weeks (8 Months, 3 Weeks, 3 days)
Weight? 16lbs? We will find out at his 9 month appointment on the 15th.
Clothing? He is still in 6 and 6/9 months clothes and size 3 diapers.
Sleep? He is not a big napper. He naps about 3 or 4 times a day for about 30-45 minutes at a time. He sleeps 10-11 hours through the night.
Toys? Remotes, cords and cables, anything that spins, phones, clothing tags and anything else he can find.
Eating? His appetite had increased since he has been on the Prevacid. He had been eating about 5-6 jars of baby food and around 20 ounces of formula. He is also eating grits in the mornings and several snacks throughout the day. He drinks juice and water from a sippy cup as well.
New discoveries? He is a clapping, waving, high-fiving, scooting and talking machine! He loves to walk while holding onto someone's fingers and can stand for a few seconds by himself.
What I am looking forward to? Gymboree classes for Daniel start on June 19th!
New Things/ Things to Watch For? Your baby's getting closer and closer to full-fledged walking. He can probably crawl up stairs and cruise, moving around upright while holding onto furniture. A baby this age may even take a couple of steps. (A few actually do walk now — and some don't walk until well into their second year. There's a wide range of ages at which children meet this milestone.) Your baby's also learning how to bend his knees and how to sit after standing, which is harder to master than you might think! He might get "stuck" standing up in his crib. If this happens, gently show him how he can get back down. There are ways to help your baby with his walking efforts. Stand or kneel in front of him, and help him walk toward you by holding both of his hands. Eventually just hold your hands out to him in encouragement. Some babies enjoy pushing a toddle truck, which provides both support and mobility. Look for one with a wide, stable base. Babyproofing your home is a necessity now. One good place to start is to put latches on the doors of off-limits cabinets — babies inevitably make a beeline for such things. (You could also move all cleaning supplies or potential poison hazards to higher cabinets.) Also, your baby's crib mattress should be at the lowest mattress setting.
