Sunny and Warm!

This weekend the weather has been wonderful! It is a little weird for it to be 66 degrees in January but I am not complaining! Brian, Daniel and I took advantage of the weather and went to the park yesterday with Mia and Poppy. We had so much fun we went again today with Mimi, Pops, Aunt Jessica and Logan! Daniel loves big kids! He tried to run over and play football with them today and he tried to play tag with the kids at the park yesterday by running around and screaming! He is very unhappy when we have to move him to something else. He wants to be big so bad. This weekend was awesome! I wish the weather was like this all the time!

Playdates and Little Bears!

Since the last time I have blogged we have had many playdates!

Brian was home for Martin Luther King's Birthday (Monday the 17th) so we decided to take Daniel to this little indoor playground called Little Bears. It was so much fun, he cried when we made him leave. I know we are so mean ;-)
On Tuesday we went to Chuck E Cheese with Alycia, Cael and Josh. This was the first time Daniel has been there since he has been able to walk and all I can say is I am so HAPPY they have the black light stamps on our hands! He was everywhere. I was so thankful to have Cael there to help me with Daniel. He is so good with him. On Wednesday we went to Little Bears with my friend Christina and her daughter Hadley. The kids had a lot of fun. It is a great place to let the kids play and the mom's chat!On Thursday we had a playdate with Sarah, Will, Jack, Nicole and Rachel. It was the first time we had all the kids together. It was funny to see all the boys and little baby Rachel. The boys were a little rough but knew to "try" to calm down around the baby. On Saturday we went to Mimi and Pops' house to celebrate Logan's birthday again with the Norton's and Marcelo's. Benjamin, Logan and Daniel played and had lots of fun.

Shew...That was just one week...we still have another week to go!

So on Tuesday this past week we went over to play with Jude and then Alycia, Cael and Josh came over. We played at the house and then went to La Bamba for lunch. (it is mine and Cael's favorite place to eat) On Wednesday, we met Nicole and Rachel for lunch at Chili's and then came back to the house to play. I made a cute book on Shutterfly for Rachel. I will post it at the bottom of the post. On Thursday we went over to Katie and Hadley's house to have lunch and then went to Little Bears again! Are you beginning to see a pattern??

So we have had so much fun the last few weeks with a lot of friends. Unfortunately I did not have my camera at most of these but I will post what I do have!

Logan's First Birthday Party!

Logan turned one on January 14 and we celebrated at his party on the 15th. It was a "Winter One-derland" theme. We had a great time and Logan received a lot of wonderful things. I can't believe he is already a year old!

We also were able to share in the excitement of a friend's ultrasound results. She is having a girl and we are all so excited!

I did not get many good pictures but here are the best ones!

16 Months!

How Old? 16 Months
Height? 29.25 inches at 15 months
Weight? Well I weighed him on the neighbors scale and he was 19 lbs 10 oz...not sure how accurate that is. We go to the doctor on Thursday and will find out.
Teeth? He has 8 teeth through and is working on 4 more!
Words? Hey, Yes, Please, Dada, Mama, Cheese, Fish, Daisy, Get, That and he tries to say everything I ask him to lately.
Food? He loves just about everything...okra, cheese, pb&j, broccoli, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, carrots, chicken, turkey, crackers, bananas, apples, pears, peaches, oatmeal and many more.
Activities? He goes from one toy to another and especially loves throwing or rolling the ball, his cozy coupe, puzzles, books, cars, trucks, coloring, and running around.
Developments? He has gotten really fast at walking (running), he copies our words and actions more, he has gotten really attached to daddy lately, he dances and claps at least 30 minutes out of every day and had just turned into such a big boy!
What Happened? This month we welcomed a new cousin, Rachel, celebrated Christmas, Jude's birthday and Logan's birthday, went on many play dates and we played in the snow among other things. I look at babies now and think, "how did he get this big"? It is amazing how many developments are made in the second year. Every month something big changes! He is so much fun at this age and I cannot wait to see what new things he will be doing next month!
My Toddler This Month? Your 16-month-old is becoming more adept at using his hands and fingers. He may be able to stack two or three blocks into a tower, and will delight in immediately knocking it down. When you read books, he'll insist on turning the pages for you, and by now may be capable of turning one or two pages at a time instead of simply flipping from front to back. If you hand him a crayon, he'll know exactly what to do with it, but will probably scribble on anything that's in front of him — books, furniture, and walls included — so "coloring" is an activity that you'll probably want to monitor closely. He may even be able to insert a round block into the proper hole on a board with various shapes. This is a great time to introduce finger painting. You can make your own finger paints by mixing 2 tablespoons of white flour with a little water to make a thin paste and then adding a few drops of food coloring. To make painting extra easy for a young child, have him paint on waxed paper taped to a table in the kitchen or outdoors. Put a blob of paint down on the paper and show him how to slide his fingers around. If you want to save his creation, press a piece of regular paper over the waxed paper and peel gently away; hang to dry.

Snow, Snow and More Snow!

My two favorite boys playing their hearts out!
Living in Georgia, we do not usually see much snow. As a kid we might get a couple of inches total all winter. In 1993 we had a "blizzard" and I remember it being so much fun. Well, this year we had a "blizzard" again! Last Sunday night we had about 3 inches of snow fall in about an hour. When we awoke Monday morning, there were close to 6 inches on the ground! It was awesome. Schools were closed, Brian was home from work and we had a great time playing outside.

He loved the snow and did not want to have to go back inside!
"Yummy, this snow is good."

Having so much fun!
On Tuesday EVERYTHING was still shut down! Now don't get me wrong, I love spending time with Brian and Daniel but I was ready to do something!  We decided to venture to Publix to get Milk and it was so nice! We made it safely but the roads were still pretty bad. Brian tried to make it to work on Wednesday but could not get there due to road closures and accidents. He ended up going to work on Thursday but  Schools ended up being closed all week and the roads finally cleared up on Friday!

It was fun having all of the snow for a couple of days but one reason we live in Georgia is so we don't have to deal with snow like this!

Jude's 1st Birthday Party!

First of all I just want to say that I am so glad we have moved next door to wonderful people! I couldn't ask for better friends and neighbors.  When we moved in a little over six months ago, Jude was at CHOA. He was born with some complications that have resulted in him having several surgeries (one of which was in utero). He was re-admitted with a cold and had to receive the placement of a Trache in April of 2010. He came home for good in July of 2010 when he was 6 1/2 months old. Before we met Jude, we met Jonathan and Jessica a couple of times when they would come take care of the dogs. Most of the time they spent time with Jude at CHOA. From just the few meetings we had we knew we were so happy to be their neighbors and hopefully one day, friends. Since Jude shares his birthday with Jesus he had a party this past weekend after all the Christmas festivities so we could focus on Jude. This miracle child has exceeded all of the expectations of the doctors and will continue to impress us everyday just showing how God can still preform miracles today. I am so happy we were able to share in, Daniel's best buddy, Jude's celebration of his first year of life.

Here are some pictures of the party!

We are so proud of you Jude! Happy First Birthday!
