12 Months - Week 4

What Happened? This past week we had a play date pretty much everyday and I worked 4 days out of the week so needless to say, it was B-U-S-Y! I have probably said this before but it is so wonderful to have Jess and Jude next door and home everyday to go hang out. The boys get along so well and so do the moms. We also had a play date with Alycia, Cael and Josh. The weekdays were busy but so was the weekend. First of all, we love weekends because we get to spend time with Brian,  On Saturday we went to Nicole's ultrasound to take a look at baby Rachel. She is so precious and beautiful. Afterwards we went to Chili's then back home to get ready. We then headed to the Pumpkin Patch which was awesome and then to a business dinner. (I love working for my dad because Daniel can come to dinners with us) On Sunday the three of us just hung out and watched football and played all day...well except for a little while in the afternoon, Mommy, Daniel and Mia had to go shopping.
Words? He speaks his own language most of the time but he did say one new thing for Brian...."Who Dat?" Yes, I know Brian is starting him early!
Food? He likes fried eggs now and Chick-Fil-A Chicken nuggets and fruit cup.
Activities? He can crawl up stairs now, which he probably could have done before but I never let him. We went to this little indoor play place at the mall with Alycia, Cael and Josh. Everything was made of rubber and pretty safe. Daniel had a blast. He was going up and down the stairs and slide. He was worn out!
New Things? He is walking about 5 steps at a time from one person to another. He then gets lazy and crawls.
Developments? He is cutting his 3rd tooth...I know he is about 13 months old and only has 2! Believe me, that has not stopped him from eating!
My Toddler This Week? Do you feel as if your whole world still revolves around your baby? So does he! In fact, for much of his second year, your toddler will be self-absorbed. Sharing toys, snacks, and especially your attention may be very difficult. Watch him playing alongside another child, and you'll probably notice that he isn't very interested in actually interacting with her. You're still the most important person in your 13-month-old's life, and he's likely to demand a lot of your attention. But you'll start to see glimpses of his growing independence and confidence. As long as he can keep an eye on you, he may entertain himself in the family room for several minutes while you prepare dinner, interrupt you for a quick reassuring cuddle, and then venture out on his own again. At 13 months, children start to recognize that they have power, and they're learning how to use it. Your toddler may demand that you read to him, push him on a swing, take him for a walk. Even if he doesn't use words, he can make clear, by tugging on you and pointing, exactly what he wants.

Daniel in his new hat!
