6 Weeks

M7 is the size of a Sweet Pea
How Far Along? 6 Weeks 1 Day
Total weight gain/loss? lost a pound
Maternity clothes?  Some maternity pants
Best moment this week? Deciding on names! We already had a girl's name but we agreed on a boy's name.
Movement? Not yet!
Food Cravings? Morning sickness started so I am not really hungry.
What I miss? Nothing
What I am looking forward to? The ultrasound on Thursday!
Milestones? Growing like crazy, baby is starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks, and chin. Those little hands and feet --still webbed like paddles --might wiggle by week's end, the heart is beating (almost twice as fast as yours!), and blood is starting to circulate.
Other notes? We decided to call this baby M7 until we find out the gender lol. Whether boy or girl the name will start with an "M".

Fun at Monkey Joes!

We had a birthday party at Monkey Joe's last weekend . It was our first time going there.  We all had a really good time but we probably will not take Daniel there until he is older. There were a lot of bigger kids running around and playing even in the younger kids area.  It could also be that Daniel is so tiny LOL.

Here are some cute pictures from the party.
Having fun!
Jumping with Kayli, the birthday girl!

and jumping again...

"I got this mom!"

Good News!

Last Thursday I had an ultrasound of the baby and my first appointment. The appointment went great but we were unsure of my due date due to some complications with a ruptured cyst earlier in the month. I could have been 6 weeks or 4 weeks. During the ultrasound they could not see anything. I knew that meant I was probably just 4 weeks along but the ultrasound tech had to follow procedures which meant we had to prove this was a viable pregnancy. Although in the back of my mind I knew we just did not see anything because I was only 4 weeks I still began to worry. To prove the pregnancy is viable they have to check your Quants at least 2 times, which mainly is your HCG and Progesterone levels and do another ultrasound 2 weeks later. My first levels were 760 HCG and my progesterone was perfect. My next levels, which were taken yesterday, were 3281! This is good! HCG is supposed to double every 48 hours in a healthy pregnancy and it did! I am so relieved. I know I really shouldn't have been worried to begin with but it is so hard when it is your baby and when they use terms like, "viable" or non-viable". I am so happy and can't wait for the ultrasound next Thursday!

5 Weeks

How Far Along? 5 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss? 0
Maternity clothes? Actually had to pull out some maternity pants because it was too uncomfortable to be in my regular ones.
Best moment this week? Getting the positive pregnancy test!
Movement? Nothing yet!
Food Cravings? Beef
What I miss? Absolutely Nothing
What I am looking forward to? Getting my blood test results back so make sure my HCG levels are doubling and the ultrasound next week to see our little baby.
Milestones? Your embryo, which doesn't look like much more than a tadpole right now, is actually starting to form major organs (heart, kidney, liver, stomach) and systems (nervous, circulatory, digestive). Baby's presence in your uterus triggers production of HCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy tests), which triggers the production of other hormones like estrogen and progesterone, which triggers all those great symptoms you've probably been noticing!
Other notes? We are so excited to be having another baby and are blessed that it did not take us long to get pregnant.

18 Months

How Old? 18 Months
Height? 30 inches
Weight? 20 lbs
Teeth? He is cutting his lower left cuspid.
Clothes? He is still in a 12 months mostly but I have bought him some 18 months and 12- 18 months clothes for the spring and summer.
Words? Hey, Yes, Please, Dada, Mama, Cheese, Fish, Daisy, Get, That, VeggieTales, All done, Nini (Mimi), Mi (Mia), Thanks. He has also started using  combinations of words, such as, "There he is", "Get ____" (whatever he is referring to)
Food? Spaghetti, fried eggs, Jambalaya, okra, cheese, peanut butter and jelly, broccoli, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, carrots, chicken, turkey, crackers, bananas, apples, pears, peaches, oatmeal, yogurt, pancakes and many more.
Activities? He loves to be outside and is a little explorer. He is all boy and loves sticks, leaves, pine cones and pine straw.
What Happened? We have had a pretty busy month. We went to a birthday party at Tumble Bus Station and have had quite a few playdates. We have taken him to the park in my parents neighborhood and he loves it. It is fenced in so we can just let him run and explore. I am just so thankful spring is right around the corner and we can play outside more! He is full of energy and needs to burn it off!
My Toddler This Month? You may observe a spurt in physical development this month. Your toddler is likely to be surer on his feet, may love to climb all over the furniture, and can probably throw a ball underhand. He can also hold in his mind a clear memory of an object long after it's out of sight. Take advantage of this new capability by playing hide-and-seek with a favorite toy.
There may be days when all that physical energy is more than you can handle. Rather than fight it – after all, you can't change it – turn on some music, grab your little one, and invent some new dance steps together. For other ideas, see our list of toddler activities.

Taking Pictures

I know it seems like pictures have become few and far between lately. Daniel is so busy it is extremely hard to get him to sit still for a picture! Here are a few I snapped yesterday and today while he was playing.

He loves his Mickey Mouse Train and Buzz Lightyear. He follows it all over the house and picks it up and places it where he wants it if it goes somewhere he does not like.

He loves being tickled!

My lazy boys!

"Hey Mom"

"If only I was a little taller!"

He loves his daddy!

His favorite, right now, Buzz Lightyear!

Long time between posts...

I'm not sure what is going on with me lately. I have just not really been in the mood to blog. We have had a lot going on and I have just not been in the right mindset.

This past week we really didn't do much. We saw Jude and Jessica and had one playdate with Alycia, Cael and Josh at the mall playground. Mia, Poppy, Uncle John, Aunt Nicole and Rachel went to Orlando so they were not around. Daniel went and stayed with Mimi and Pops Thursday and spent the night so Brian and I could spend some time together. Friday, Brian and I went and ate dinner with Mimi, Pops, Logan and Aunt Jess when we picked up little man. Oh and he had a temper tantrum after dinner so Mimi got to see how Daniel can behave. Up until then, he was a perfect angel that never pitched a fit. However, I am sure she has blocked it from her memory by now. :-)

Daniel is growing like a weed and is looking more and more like a little boy. He does not want to be held or snuggled. He just wants to play and run. He is very independent. He has also been very picky with food lately. I will give him something, i.e. yogurt, and he will not want it. He has always loved yogurt but just doesn't want it right then. I guess he can decide when he is in the mood for something now. It is very difficult since he cannot clearly tell me what he wants. I take him to to refrigerator and the pantry and try to get him to point at what he wants. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I just hate wasting food and I feel like that is what happens when I fix him something and he just will not eat it. Anyways, I hope he grows out of this quickly or can begin to tell me what he wants to eat. This guessing game just plain stinks!

Hopefully I can get some good pictures of him this weekend to post!

17 Months!

How Old? 17 Months
Height? 30.5 inches maybe? We will find out at his 18 month check up.
Weight? 20 lbs 5 oz
Teeth? His 1st molars are slowly coming in.

Clothes? He still fits well into a 12 months for clothes. He wears a 4.5 shoe. We went to Stride Rite again to get him a new pair of shoes.
Words? Hey, Yes, Please, Dada, Mama, Cheese, Fish, Daisy, Get, That, VeggieTales, All done, Nini for (Mimi) and I heard him say Me for Mia on Valentines day. I am sure there are more but I cannot think of them.
Food? He loves just about everything... spaghetti, fried eggs, Jambalaya, okra, cheese, peanut butter and jelly, broccoli, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, carrots, chicken, turkey, crackers, bananas, apples, pears, peaches, oatmeal and many more.
Activities? He loves to pull things around. i.e. pull toys with a string, his little blocks wagon, his blanket), He LOVES music and to play the drums. We have been working on singing his ABC's and although he cannot say the correct letters he still tries. He loves to be the center of attention. We have cut back on TV time because he was watching way too much! He loves to chase people and have them chase him back. He will deliberately pick something up he is not supposed to have just to get us to chase him so we can get it.
Developments? He can spin and tries to jump. He is learning how to feed himself with a spoon. He all of the sudden is a daddy's boy. I am sure Brian thinks it is wonderful and that he deserves it after all these month's of wanting mommy, and he does deserve it but I still miss my mama's boy :-(
What Happened? This month has gone by so fast. We have had lots of playdates with our friends and have gone to the park a few times with Brian and it was great. It is so much fun now that he is older and can play on the playground...somewhat.  Daniel had his first fever (103.3) a couple of weeks ago. He was congested and coughing a little but overall I think it was just a virus. Poor little guy was pitiful. When I look at him now I see a little boy not a baby anymore and it is so much fun but I miss my baby boy sometimes.
My Toddler This Month? If you've been lovingly recording your little one's first words, get ready to take some serious dictation. As he reaches the midpoint of his second year, it's time for a language explosion! Where he once tentatively added a word or two every few weeks, your 17-month-old will probably start learning them now at a rapid pace — so fast that by the time he turns two, he'll have a bank of more than 200 words at the ready. Will you understand them all? Probably not. He's likely to mispronounce and mix up much of what he says (often adorably so) until he's about three years old, substituting consonants she has trouble forming with those that are easier for him. Consonant blends (st, fl, br) are even trickier, which is why many young toddlers simply leave out half the blend (saying "tuck" for "truck" or "soo" for "shoe"). To help him learn, model appropriate pronunciation — there's no need to try to teach him the correct sounds directly. He learns by listening to you, so skip the baby talk and instead, expand on what he says to help him build that word bank. When he points to the fruit bowl and announces "Appa!" you can offer him the correct pronunciation as well as introduce new words by responding, "Yes, that's an apple! It's a shiny red apple. Would you like to have an apple for your snack?" If your child isn't there yet, don't worry; as with all other aspects of development, kids follow their own talking timetable. If your toddler can understand what he hears and make himself understood with gestures and a few words or sounds, he's doing just fine. To support his language learning, talk and talk and talk some more. Describe what you're seeing and doing. Take him places (the store, the park, the library) where he can see new things — and hear new words. Singing songs and sharing books are also hugely valuable as vocab-builders. One last note: Always respond warmly and enthusiastically to your child's attempts to communicate — he'll be thrilled when he gets his point across!

Sunny and Warm!

This weekend the weather has been wonderful! It is a little weird for it to be 66 degrees in January but I am not complaining! Brian, Daniel and I took advantage of the weather and went to the park yesterday with Mia and Poppy. We had so much fun we went again today with Mimi, Pops, Aunt Jessica and Logan! Daniel loves big kids! He tried to run over and play football with them today and he tried to play tag with the kids at the park yesterday by running around and screaming! He is very unhappy when we have to move him to something else. He wants to be big so bad. This weekend was awesome! I wish the weather was like this all the time!

Playdates and Little Bears!

Since the last time I have blogged we have had many playdates!

Brian was home for Martin Luther King's Birthday (Monday the 17th) so we decided to take Daniel to this little indoor playground called Little Bears. It was so much fun, he cried when we made him leave. I know we are so mean ;-)
On Tuesday we went to Chuck E Cheese with Alycia, Cael and Josh. This was the first time Daniel has been there since he has been able to walk and all I can say is I am so HAPPY they have the black light stamps on our hands! He was everywhere. I was so thankful to have Cael there to help me with Daniel. He is so good with him. On Wednesday we went to Little Bears with my friend Christina and her daughter Hadley. The kids had a lot of fun. It is a great place to let the kids play and the mom's chat!On Thursday we had a playdate with Sarah, Will, Jack, Nicole and Rachel. It was the first time we had all the kids together. It was funny to see all the boys and little baby Rachel. The boys were a little rough but knew to "try" to calm down around the baby. On Saturday we went to Mimi and Pops' house to celebrate Logan's birthday again with the Norton's and Marcelo's. Benjamin, Logan and Daniel played and had lots of fun.

Shew...That was just one week...we still have another week to go!

So on Tuesday this past week we went over to play with Jude and then Alycia, Cael and Josh came over. We played at the house and then went to La Bamba for lunch. (it is mine and Cael's favorite place to eat) On Wednesday, we met Nicole and Rachel for lunch at Chili's and then came back to the house to play. I made a cute book on Shutterfly for Rachel. I will post it at the bottom of the post. On Thursday we went over to Katie and Hadley's house to have lunch and then went to Little Bears again! Are you beginning to see a pattern??

So we have had so much fun the last few weeks with a lot of friends. Unfortunately I did not have my camera at most of these but I will post what I do have!

Jack, Will and Daniel...not sure what they are doing...

Logan's First Birthday Party!

Logan turned one on January 14 and we celebrated at his party on the 15th. It was a "Winter One-derland" theme. We had a great time and Logan received a lot of wonderful things. I can't believe he is already a year old!

We also were able to share in the excitement of a friend's ultrasound results. She is having a girl and we are all so excited!

I did not get many good pictures but here are the best ones!
